Tomorrow is the last day to view the Homebody exhibition in Brooklyn. I was instantly attracted to the shows invite, showcasing an abstracted still life painting of Goya crackers.

I was surrounded by GOYA products growing up in a latino household, they are analogous to the all American Campbell’s canned food.

I recently unearthed my old college try at abstraction made in the early 2000’s. This is a poster sized preliminary for a painting of Goya’s Premium Black Beans:

At any rate, the Homebody show includes an interesting Sleeping Bag sculpture from interdisciplinary artist Andrew Sutherland. Here’s a detail shot of the work consisting of Newspaper, Polystuff, Glue, Acrylic Medium, Thread and Zipper:

There’s something very FINAL HOME about it.
